DataOn announces integrated hybrid cloud solutions for the new Azure Stack HCI

DataON, a leading provider of hybrid cloud solutions for Microsoft Azure Stack HCI with cloud-based Azure Services, announced that it will deliver integrated hybrid cloud solutions for the new Microsoft Azure Stack HCI.

As one of the first Microsoft partners, DataOn offers fully integrated solutions for the new Azure Stack HCI. Integrated solutions provide a complete and turn-key solution. DataOn was already known for this among customers who have implemented Microsoft Windows Server-based solutions. These multi-node solutions consist of premium Windows Server-certified hardware components and pre-installation of Azure Stack HCI. They have been jointly supported by DataOn and Microsoft for over 5 years, with ongoing testing and validation from both DataOn and Microsoft. The drivers and firmware can be easily updated in a one-click process via Cluster Aware Update (CAU) via Server Manager.

European representation

Premium Partner XCES is responsible for the sales, services and warranty of DataOn solutions in Europe. Integrated solutions from DataOn can be ordered via DataOn, XCES and Microsoft. XCES has been a partner of DataOn since 2016 and has already been able to help many customers with DataOn solutions. Joost Dubbelman, Pre-Sales Consultant at XCES says: “Our collaboration with DataOn has taken off in recent years. We notice that the need for an on-premise hybrid cloud environment is increasing and with the latest announcement of the new Azure Stack HCI, we expect this to expand with the enhanced Azure Services capabilities.”

New innovations

Azure Stack HCI version 20H2 is a new server operating system in the Microsoft portfolio that delivers a hyper-converged infrastructure with built-in hybrid cloud connections. The innovations of this new version contribute to the goal of becoming the best virtualization host, while at the same time being the future of Hyper-V virtualization and software-defined storage and networking. Leverage Azure Stack HCI instead of traditional server infrastructures to run critical virtual applications and workloads in a highly available and flexible way.

Azure Stack HCI is part of the Azure Stack family. It features the same Hyper-V-based software-defined computing, storage and networking techniques as Azure Stack Hub and shares similar testing and validation criteria. It has the same core OS components, management track and hardware catalog as the Azure Stack HCI's previous version. The main difference with the previous version is the new subscription model operating system that is paid for by an Azure account. In addition, prices are lower for Edge computing environments.
